The Tomb of King Muryeong is part of the Songsan-ri royal tomb cluster in Gongju, and its 1971 discovery was a landmark event in Korean archaeology — it was found completely undisturbed by tomb robbers, unlike most other Baekje royal tombs, yielding thousands of intact artifacts including gold crown ornaments now displayed at the Gongju National Museum. The original tomb chamber is sealed to prevent deterioration, but a full-scale replica chamber near the site lets visitors see the burial layout as excavated.

Combined with the nearby Gongju National Museum (where the actual gold artifacts are kept) and Gongsanseong Fortress, this makes for one of the most complete pictures of Baekje royal culture available anywhere in Korea.
