Pukekura Park
Pukekura Park is New Plymouth's main public park, a lush Victorian-era garden built around a series of lakes, with a notable fernery, a band rotunda, and paths winding through native and exotic plantings. It connects directly to Brooklands Park (and the small Brooklands Zoo), forming one large green space near the city centre.
It's especially popular during the annual Festival of Lights in summer, when the park is illuminated at night, but it's a pleasant, free walk at any time of year.
