Getting around: A short walk (about 15-20 minutes uphill) from the Devonport ferry terminal or village centre. There's also a small car park near the summit if driving.

Mount Victoria (Takarunga) is a volcanic cone rising above Devonport village, with a summit walk offering 360-degree views across Waitematā Harbour to the Auckland CBD skyline, and out toward Rangitoto Island. Old gun emplacements from its history as a coastal defence site are still visible near the top.

It's a short, easy climb — more a stroll than a hike — and one of the better free harbour viewpoints in Auckland, especially combined with the ferry ride over from downtown.
