Wairakei Terraces is a geothermal park featuring man-made silica terraces designed to echo the lost Pink and White Terraces, alongside natural hot pools, a native bird sanctuary, and Māori cultural performances and hāngī dining options. It combines geothermal sightseeing with a cultural experience in one stop, similar in concept to some Rotorua attractions but on a smaller scale.

It's a good half-visit combining natural scenery and culture, and its proximity to Huka Falls makes it easy to pair with that stop on the same outing.
