Tatton Park
Tatton Park is a large National Trust estate combining a Georgian mansion, extensive gardens (including a Japanese garden and an orangery), a working rare-breeds farm, and a deer park roamed by both red and fallow deer across roughly 1,000 acres. It's one of the most complete historic estates open to the public in the North West, with enough variety across house, gardens, and farm to suit a range of interests in one visit.
The house retains much of its original Georgian and Regency interior and furnishings, while the gardens, developed over several centuries by successive owners, include distinct themed areas from formal Italian terraces to the Japanese garden built in the early 20th century. The farm gives a more hands-on, family-friendly element with rare-breed animals and seasonal activities.
