Taejongdae
Taejongdae is a forested cliff park on the southern tip of Yeongdo Island, where a walking path winds through pine forest to dramatic sea cliffs, a lighthouse, and viewpoints looking out toward Japan's Tsushima Island on clear days. Legend holds that Silla-era King Taejong Muyeol used to come here to shoot arrows, giving the park its name.
The full loop on foot takes about an hour and a half at a relaxed pace; the small shuttle train covers the same route with a few stops if you'd rather not walk the whole thing, useful given the hilly terrain.
