EME Temple (Dakshinamurti Temple) is an unusual temple built by the Indian Army's Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers, constructed largely from military surplus and recycled materials, including aluminum and other scrap metal, into an elaborate architectural structure dedicated to Shiva. It's a distinctive engineering and artistic achievement, quite different in construction method from any conventional temple. It's a lesser-known but genuinely interesting stop given its unusual origin story and materials, appealing to visitors curious about unconventional architecture as much as those visiting for religious reasons.

Laxmi Vilas Palace was built in the late 19th century by the Gaekwad rulers of Baroda, and it remains one of the largest private residences in the world, considerably larger than Buckingham Palace, blending Indo-Saracenic architecture with elaborate interior mosaics, murals, and armory displays. Part of the palace remains a private residence of the Gaekwad family, with a separate section, the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum, open to the public. Given its scale and ongoing royal family connection, it offers a genuinely grand look at princely-era architecture and wealth, and the museum's collection of art, armory, and royal artifacts adds substantial historical depth to the visit.

Sayaji Baug is a large public park in central Vadodara, built by the Gaekwad rulers, encompassing a zoo, the Baroda Museum, a planetarium, and a toy train, making it one of the more comprehensive city parks in Gujarat. It functions as Vadodara's primary green space and family recreational hub, combining multiple attractions within one large, walkable area. Given the range of facilities, it's easy to spend a good half-day here covering the zoo, museum, and general park grounds, making it a solid, low-effort core of a Vadodara sightseeing day.

Statue of Unity is the world's tallest statue at 182 meters, depicting Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India's first Deputy Prime Minister and a key figure in unifying India's princely states after independence, completed in 2018 near the Narmada Dam. A viewing gallery at roughly two-thirds of the statue's height offers panoramic views over the surrounding Satpura and Vindhya mountain ranges and the Narmada reservoir. The broader site has developed into a large tourism complex including gardens, a museum inside the statue's base, a nearby valley of flowers, and various additional attractions, meaning a full visit can easily take most of a day. Given the distance from Vadodara and the scale of the surrounding complex, it's best planned as a dedicated day trip rather than a quick stop.
