Tampere Cathedral, completed in 1907, is known for its striking Art Nouveau-influenced frescoes by Hugo Simberg, including the unconventional and much-discussed 'Wounded Angel' and a garland of boys carrying it — imagery considered provocative in its era and still one of the more discussed works of Finnish religious art.
