Rocher des Doms
Rocher des Doms is a hilltop park directly above the Palais des Papes, landscaped in the 19th century with a small lake, mature trees, and a viewpoint terrace that looks out over the Rhône, Pont d'Avignon, and across to Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. It's the best panoramic spot in the city and costs nothing to visit.
Most people combine it with the Palais des Papes since it sits right above it, and it's a good place to catch your breath and take photos after the palace tour. There's a small café in summer, but otherwise it's simply a garden — worthwhile for the view, not for attractions within the park itself.
