Getting around: On Puijo hill just north of Kuopio; about 10 minutes by car or bus, or a hiking trail from downtown.
Hours: Daily roughly 10:00-21:00 summer, shorter in winter; the restaurant keeps its own hours.
Puijo Tower sits atop Kuopio's highest hill, arguably the best regional view over Kallavesi and the surrounding lake district. The hill is also a ski jump and cross-country venue used for competitions.
