Nandi Hills is a hill station and ancient fort site north of Bengaluru, popular mainly as a sunrise viewpoint and a weekend escape from the city, especially with cyclists who ride up the winding ghat road before dawn. Tipu Sultan used the hills as a summer retreat, and ruins of his fortifications remain scattered across the hilltop.

The main draw for most visitors is the view itself, layered hills and, on clear mornings, a sea of clouds below the summit, along with the cooler climate compared to Bengaluru. It gets very crowded on weekends, so an early, weekday visit gives a noticeably better experience.
