Gamle Bybro
The Old Town Bridge is a red wooden bridge across the Nidelva river, rebuilt in its current form in the 1860s though a crossing has existed here since the 17th century, and it offers what's probably Trondheim's most photographed view - the colourful old riverside warehouses lining the water on either side. Its arched wooden 'Portal of Happiness' gate at one end is a small architectural detail worth noting as you cross.
It's a functional pedestrian link as much as a sight in itself, connecting the cathedral area to Bakklandet, so most visitors simply walk across it as part of exploring both neighbourhoods rather than visiting it as a standalone destination.
